Intesa Sanpaolo has received the Gold Medal in the Product Development category at the 2026 Datos Insights Bank Impact Awards in Cash Management and Payments for its Digital Asset Custody Service.
The award recognizes the initiative developed to integrate the custody and transfer of digital assets into the Bank’s infrastructure and control framework. The platform brings together wallet management capabilities, the transfer of assets between wallets, anti-money laundering controls , reconciliation and regulatory reporting within Intesa Sanpaolo’s existing risk, compliance and accounting frameworks.
The adopted model enables the Bank to retain control over the most sensitive components of the custody process, while integrating state-of-the-art technologies. In particular, cryptographic material and the private keys used for on-chain transactions remains protected within the security infrastructure controlled by Intesa Sanpaolo’s.
The platform is already being used internally to support the Bank’s proprietary activities, and development is underway for a service aimed at corporate and institutional clients.
The recognition from Datos Insights highlights Intesa Sanpaolo’s commitment to financial services innovation and to the development of a new infrastructure capable of supporting the evolution of capital markets on Distributed Ledger Technologies .
