Confirming is an agreement whereby the bank takes over the management of trade payables to specific strategic suppliers in the supply chain. Suppliers may therefore have easier access to credit and to dedicated financial terms and conditions.
With the Inbiz Working Capital Management module, dedicated to Confirming, the process is totally online for both the Chain Leader and the selected suppliers.
The key features of the service include:
- Offer of services both for the buyer company (Chain Leader) and for its suppliers
- 100% online management with Inbiz: from uploading documents to advance payment requests from suppliers
- Optimisation of the management of trade payables payments
- Competitive financial terms and conditions frozen for up to 12 months for suppliers, if the buyer company signs a Supply Chain Agreement
How Confirming works
Upon expiration of the documents uploaded and confirmed on the Inbiz portal (e.g. invoices and credit notes), the bank will:
- debit the current account for the amount of the documents, at the original maturity or at the extended maturity if requested
- credit those suppliers who have not already requested advance payment
The following players are involved in this process:
- ·the company (Buyer - Chain Leader) that entrusts the bank with the management of its trade payables
- Intesa Sanpaolo that takes over and manages the trade payables, granting, if requested, also an extension of the payment terms
- the supplier who will be able to assign the receivables due from the company (buyer) obtaining liquidity in a shorter time
Once the bank has been instructed to manage the trade payables and the Inbiz service has been activated, both the company (Buyer - Chain Leader) and the suppliers can access the shared work area:
- the company (Buyer – Chain Leader) has availability of the Confirming Buyer work area to upload the documents (such as invoices and credit notes) of the suppliers
- the authorised supplier uses the Confirming Supplier work area to select their documents, uploaded by the Buyer, and forward advance requests to the bank
Intesa Sanpaolo makes Confirming specialists available throughout Italy and, once the invoices have been confirmed online, it takes care of paying Italian and foreign suppliers on behalf of the chain-leader company.
In addition to providing financial support to its production chain, with Confirming the Buyer company will be able to negotiate with the bank an additional payment extension, in addition to that agreed with its suppliers, thus aligning the financial cycle to its specific needs.
