Working capital management tools enable access to advanced financial solutions that allow companies to manage cash flows more effectively through the centralisation of payments to suppliers, with the possibility of obtaining further extensions with respect to the original invoice due date.

Factoring

Factoring is a contract whereby ownership of your receivables is transferred to your bank, thereby obtaining different services, including, for example, advance payment thereof.

On Inbiz, the working area called Working capital management includes tools to digitally manage the product, which enable you to:

  • Check the transactions and monitor the status of your requests (presentation of receivables, debtors’ assessment and collection notices) made through the portal in real time
  • Digitally sign and send requests to transfer receivables and new debtors to the bank
  • View statements in online and paperless mode

How Factoring works

Three different players are involved in the process:

  • The supplier (Assignor) who assigns their receivables to the bank in order to obtain management and financing thereof, if applicable
  • Intesa Sanpaolo (Assignee) who takes ownership, manages and possibly advances payment for the assigned receivables
  • The customer (assigned debtor) against whom a receivable is claimed

Receivables that can be assigned to the bank are normally trade receivables by nature, but can also be of another nature, for example tax credits such as VAT.

Intesa Sanpaolo offers a range of solutions to meet different needs, such as:

  • Without recourse, aimed at those who intend to limit credit risks, to have 100% guarantee of the receivables assigned in the event of customer insolvency, within the limits of the credit ceiling granted
  • With recourse, aimed at those who require optimal management of their receivables, and to monitor debtors

In addition, it is possible to agree on additional specific operations including:

  • Supply credit to grant the assigned debtors a possible payment extension, against payment of a fee, with respect to the due date
  • Maturity to be sure of the receivables collection date, regardless of the date of actual collection

The main strengths of Factoring solutions:

  • A dedicated portal to manage online transactions independently
  • Optimisation of internal company costs, entrusting the bank with the management of receivables
  • Professional assessment of the risk vis-à-vis the assigned debtors for constant monitoring
  • Guarantee of the successful outcome of the receivable in the event of assignment without recourse
  • Better treasury planning thanks to the certainty of the collection date (“Maturity” option)
  • Additional liquidity through the advance of receivables before maturity

Confirming is an agreement whereby the bank takes over the management of trade payables to specific strategic suppliers in the supply chain. Suppliers may therefore have easier access to credit and to dedicated financial terms and conditions.

With the Inbiz Working Capital Management module, dedicated to Confirming, the process is totally online for both the Chain Leader and the selected suppliers.

The key features of the service include:

  • Offer of services both for the buyer company (Chain Leader) and for its suppliers
  • 100% online management with Inbiz: from uploading documents to advance payment requests from suppliers
  • Optimisation of the management of trade payables payments
  • Competitive financial terms and conditions frozen for up to 12 months for suppliers, if the buyer company signs a Supply Chain Agreement

How Confirming works

Upon expiration of the documents uploaded and confirmed on the Inbiz portal (e.g. invoices and credit notes), the bank will:

  • debit the current account for the amount of the documents, at the original maturity or at the extended maturity if requested
  • credit those suppliers who have not already requested advance payment

The following players are involved in this process:

  • ·the company (Buyer - Chain Leader) that entrusts the bank with the management of its trade payables
  • Intesa Sanpaolo that takes over and manages the trade payables, granting, if requested, also an extension of the payment terms
  • the supplier who will be able to assign the receivables due from the company (buyer) obtaining liquidity in a shorter time

Once the bank has been instructed to manage the trade payables and the Inbiz service has been activated, both the company (Buyer - Chain Leader) and the suppliers can access the shared work area:

  • the company (Buyer – Chain Leader) has availability of the Confirming Buyer work area to upload the documents (such as invoices and credit notes) of the suppliers
  • the authorised supplier uses the Confirming Supplier work area to select their documents, uploaded by the Buyer, and forward advance requests to the bank

Intesa Sanpaolo makes Confirming specialists available throughout Italy and, once the invoices have been confirmed online, it takes care of paying Italian and foreign suppliers on behalf of the chain-leader company.

In addition to providing financial support to its production chain, with Confirming the Buyer company will be able to negotiate with the bank an additional payment extension, in addition to that agreed with its suppliers, thus aligning the financial cycle to its specific needs.
